Goodbye to Last Ironman


The last survivor of the 11 Ironmen, Jim DeAngelis, died peacefully of natural causes on December 26 at Wallingford, CT. He was 97. The team's center and linebacker had attended the Harvard-Yale game last November 17 in the Yale Bowl. Seventy-three years before, November 17, 1934, DeAngelis and his 10 teammates started and finished --- without a single substitution --- their classic contest, the upset of an undefeated Princeton squad.
